The right exposure

Corpus Christi, Texas, summer afternoon. —  Getting just the right exposure is not easy for a beginner or even an intermediate photographer to master. Cameras, in an effort to make exposure easy have actually made it harder. The pros shoot in manual mode. Why? Because it gives them the most control of what the final picture will look like. Aperture, Shutter speed, and ISO settings are what you want to learn how to manually set yourself. These settings radically affect your image.  The “auto” mode exposure setting on any camera ever made, even now or many years ago – does not know what you are taking a picture of. Some newer cameras have gone to great lengths to create “portrait settings” “night settings”, “landscape settings”, etc., etc. These so-called settings still don’t know what you are shooting. They are still a guess of what it is you are taking a picture of. To learn more, subscribe to my blog. I teach privately online and can get you on the fast track to mastering photography.
